Creating a new child account

To establish a new child account that’s accessible from your Gov Parent Account login, follow the steps outlined here:

From your list of child accounts, click “Clone” next to either an existing account that most closely represents the new account you’re creating or you can use the “GOV Demo Account” which has all the preset values defined on it and is safe to clone from:

On the clone pop up window, provide the following information:

  1. Business Name: This is the display name for the new account that will show to the participants booking as well as the default “From” address on any email confirmations the participants and the Empower Associates receive

  2. Internal Name: In several cases, the business name provided in item #1 above is “Empower Retirement”. You can thus set a unique “Internal Name” that just shows to you and the other Empower Associates when they login and can help you distinguish the account from the other accounts with the same Business Name. You can leave this blank if the Business Name is the unique name and we will just automatically fill the field with the Business Name value.

  3. Webhandle: This is the main, default webhandle for the account. This is typically not used on the GOV child accounts as usually custom booking sites are established on a per location basis once the child account is created to show items that are more specific to the participant booking. Still, this is a required field when creating a child account so put in a generic value here.

  4. Timezone: Be sure that this is set properly so that the times display correctly. If the account spans multiple timezone, choose the one you want to be the main one here and then you can set on a per location basis once the account is set up the locations that are outside of teh main timezone.

  5. Copy Meetings: This will make it so that all the meeting type values on the account you are cloning from (i.e. “Comprehensive Retirement Analysis – Active Employee”, “Comprehensive Retirement Analysis - Retiree”, “Investment Advice”, “Consolidating Accounts”, “Group Plan Overview & Enrollment Session”, “Individual Enrollment Meeting”, “Deferral Increase”, and “Special Catch Up, Sick & Vacation”) as well as their respective Salesforce Sync Values (i.e. “RRR Meeting”, “Individual Meeting”, and “Group Meeting”) will get copied to the new account so that you don’t have to add these manually

Once you’re done with that, click the “Clone to New Account” button and the new account will be established so that you can login to it and continue setting it up further:
